As a result of the merger between Macmillan Science and Education and Springer Science+Business Media, Palgrave Macmillan and Springer have decided to align our eBook collections, collating them all on one platform for our customers to find and use easily.
Effective October 2015, starting with the 2016 collections, all Palgrave titles that would have been made available on Palgrave Connect will be integrated into the 10 Springer eBook collections. All existing titles and collections on Palgrave Connect will also be migrated to SpringerLink and site license users will be able to access content via SpringerLink directly. A complete list of the eBook collections can be found by visiting the Springer eBooks information page.
We recognize that this is not an overnight process and will therefore ensure that all content is still fully accessible on www.palgraveconnect.com until all titles have been fully transferred over and all customers have complete access on SpringerLink.
Palgrave Connect offers access to over 1,800 new scholarly ebooks every year. With collections being updated every week, the 2015 Collections offer lecturers, researchers and students instant access to the most authoritative and up-to-date scholarship.
Visibility and being seen to be there matters in contemporary society. This book explores the politics of looking and being seen, and suggests new ways of understanding the gaze as relational and embodied. It uses a variety of examples; from sport; from film and theatre; and from the sexualized images of popular culture.
Beyond Third Culture Kids
The existing literature and numerous webpages dealing with Third Culture Kids often appear to be overenthusiastic about the concept. This book proposes to think otherwise and to review the ideologies and myths behind this construct. With contributors from different parts of the world and from various disciplines, the origins of the term TCKs, its development and the current debates around it are discussed, beyond the somewhat stagnant discourses about these individuals.
